DI, I got the same message when I applied for the 75K mile AA card about 2 months ago. Exactly the same message.

The reasons, when you speak with the CSRs, are all over the place so good luck I had to call in 3 times before I got an answer that is even plausible so I left it alone - the other 2 CSRs were simply BS.

They told me Restricted on my account was because some years ago, I fell behind on a Citi account and they wrote off the $300 balance I owed them.

I paid them the month they wrote off the balance but that was too late and they are still today reporting the account as a charge off. For that reason, they said my "account was restricted".

Hopefully when the statute of limitations falls off in about 2 years, I can reapply.

Let us know what you find out and have patience with Citi because we know more about their products then they do !

As anal as I am making sure all my CC's are PIF every month, having 11 would most likely give me a stroke, 9 is bad enough, don't get me wrong I do not use all 9 every month but making sure I rotate them every month to show usage and blah blah you know what I mean LOL!!!

As anal as I am making sure all my CC's are PIF every month, having 11 would most likely give me a stroke, 9 is bad enough, don't get me wrong I do not use all 9 every month but making sure I rotate them every month to show usage and blah blah you know what I mean LOL!!!

Mustang - is your AAoA really low for accumulating so many in a short period of time? Sorry DI, for being all over your post. I'm just inquisitive about how this works...

I picked up 13 points when that (AU) CC was reported, I know 13 points is a good bit, but I have achieved my scores on my own with the exception of 13 points.

EDIT: just went back and looked at my score history, I picked up 13 points from the AU acct, not 16, I edited my post accordingly.

For example, you'll never get denied for have short credit history so you can app much more.
