I have a United Mileage Plus Visa Signature and Flexible Rewards, and would like to close out my United Mileage Plus. It has a $4,700 CL while my Flexible Rewards has a $1,500 CL. Main reason I'd like to close my United Mileage Plus card is, I have no use for airline miles or their associated rewards, plus it would be great to have that $4,700 report again as part of my Flexible Rewards CL. Now, I did speak to an analyst for my United MIleage Plus card, so perhaps he was fibbing when I asked him about allocating trade lines to other credit cards.

I applied for a new chase card but am expecting a denial due to having made an application several months ago. Since my current limit is more than sufficient I don't mind sharing it with the new card, and I was wondering if anyone has done this or if it's fairly standard procedure?

I was told by someone through one of their backdoor #'s that Chase didn't allow allocation of CL's from one Chase card to another, assuming one has more than one Chase account. But then again, in another thread someone just reported differently, though at the expense of a hard pull. I'd like to know if it is possible without a hard pull, as I'd like to shift my entire limit from one card onto the other, thereby closing the former.

I don't see why chase would care about how the limits are allocated. In my case it would be between world/signature cards, so essentially no difference.

I've read lots of accounts of people reallocating limits on their Chase cards when reconning a denial. This was in reference to the many people apping for the Chase BA Visa when the 100K bonus was going. I'm pretty sure that Frugal Travel Guy talked about being able to reallocate limits with Chase.
