Does anybody know the min scores needed for this card? I tried asking boa via their online chat line but was given the line "just apply and see". Also, I was given the script that online approvals are given by their automated system which can't pick up specifics such as collections, charge offs or BK. Is this true with BOA? Are you approved on score alone?

Check BOA's preapproval link on their website. If you qualify for one of their cards, the Amex will probably be offered. I had some baddies on my report before, which kept my score in the low 600's and I would check the preapp link on BOA's site regularly—always said I had no offers. The same day those baddies were removed from EX, I checked the site and I was preapproved for Amex, BankAmericard, and Platinum with $1,500 limits. I applied right away and they took a good month to get the card out to me and when I received it the limit was a measly $500, probably because I had 5 new accounts in the last few months. Asked for CLI on activiation, hold a moment, "$2,500 okay?" My point is BOA is great but I would wait until the preapproval. In case you're wondering, my EX at the time was 737 but they definitely preapprove with lower scores.

Maybe its true then. No matter what the derogs, if you have higher then that magic score they want . bingo. I guess they figure if your CR is bad, your score can't be as high as they want for an approval.

Im sure BOA is great once your with them... but there approval seems to be really finicky... I have done there pre-approval thing before for my father who was mid to high 750+ and it came back nothing available... I don't know if that means if he actually applied it would decline but you would think they would offer something.

BINGO! BofA Amex, BofA Plat and BofA Rewards Visa all with $ 1500 limits. What the heck, I completed the app and APPROVED with $ 2500 limit.

Wow, Currently my TU 636 EX 678 1 baddie Verizon pd c/o $ 340 12/06 and 1 Orchard card $ 500 limit and maxed out, never been late, opened 6/07.

Brammy, I know you advised me to pay down first before applying for new cards, but I could not wait. Reading the forums although the advise is excellent, it also gives you the itch to app when you have somewhat decent scores and no good cards.

Congratulations. I just started seeing preapproved offers on their site in the last few days. My EXP score just went up to 723 from 695. My offers were for $3500 and I'm itching to apply and maybe get a higher limit. I expect my scores to go higher in the next 10 days after a few credit cards report 0 balances.
