FIA BT Inquiry...Now A CLI Of 3K

A couple of days ago I called FIA Card Services and inquired about what sort of BT rates and terms might be available to me. Needless to say I was impressed, but I declined and told the CSR I needed to talk it over with my DW. Today when I logged-in to my account I noticed a 3K CLI without asking for one. YAY! FIA has never harded me for CLIs but I checked my reports anyway and no hards. Question, has this ever happened to you? FIA clearly wants more of my business, and I might very well give it to them.

Yep I think you got it because you declined the BT. I think they wanted you to have more room to xfer so they dusted it with some colored sprinkles. Doubt they do this for everyone... only when they know you have a choice of who you'll be pickin'.

If you man call in for info and decline the offer then shotly there after find a CLI? Yes, but not that kinda of CLI...lol!!

BoA probably, not Chase... they don't auto for some reason or do it with anything but a hard INQ.

I was shocked at the amount too. Here's the dea,l I was thinking about a 2-3K BT with FIA at 2.99% thru 09/08 but after this CLI it's certain to happen now. I plan on doing this one with FIA and another one, maybe with Discover.

No not Chase! FIA is a card desk service of BoA. I was originally an MBNA card holder. After the BoA takeover, most MBNA card holders were switched to BoA, while a few like me were carted off to FIA. All of my correspondence and statements are FIA, no hints of BoA whatsoever.

DW has been getting auto- CLIs on both Chase and BoA cards. We hate Chase for other reasons.

I hate BofA since the MBNA merger they seem to hav gotten shoddy. They sent all my personal info to an addres I hadn't lived at in ten years, pulled two hard EX inq for opening one account and said 'sorry' but that did n't take it off my reports. Heard several other horror stories since that merger.

Insane! Happy for her of course. I wonder if it's because my cards were the old First USA and Bankone cards that got bought. I thought at the least they would soft me when I called in... but hard only for all 3 cards... AOL, Amazon, and United Airlines. Very strange.

Lucky her!!! Maybe it's an Island thang.
