I think it says 15 when you add them online.

Once you input his/her DOB on the "Add someone to your acct", it will tells you that he/she must be at least minimum age of 15 yrs old to add as an AU.

How come other companies does not ask for the Age when we add the AU users to our accounts? What other companies look for the AU Age?

Don't know ... I could add my son on to my other ccs. I think it's because of AU is treated in different way with Amex ... I guess.

I would guess it's a simple business decision. Perhaps they've had too many instances of people giving their children a card and then not wanting to pay the bill for the charges. Or soemthing along those lines.

It depends on the card. Costco TrueEarnings is 18, not 15.
