I was not approved. Often times, if not approved, they will offer you a secured card instead. I didn't even get that offer, because I have some old charge offs still on my credit report.

I opened a savings and life insurance with USAA in December to specifically apply for their Mastercard in 6 months. Well, today I get a call from customer service wanting to welcome me to USAA and go over some additional products I may be interested in. Long story short, I told her I eventually wanted to apply for a mastercard with them. She said she would take the application over the phone, I said "OK" what the hell, another inquiry and a decline coming my way. To my shock and surprise I was approved for the World mastercard with a 4000 limit and APR of 16.9%. Couldn't believe it. I only had 500 in savings with them at the time. Anyways I was so happy also opened a checking...LOL. Like them so far, my scores are 677 EQ Fico, 685 EX (amex website) and transunion FICO is 650. Not that great...I reported 70,000 annual income and have 4 badies over 2 years old. I am a full memeber though, and maybe that helps?
