Walmart CLI

Finally got a decent CLI out of walmart. I've had the card for 2 1/2 years and every 4 months I hit the CLI button and usually get around $75 to $125 increase. This time I got $625 increase. Couldn't hardly believe it. Opened the card 11/08 with a $300 Credit Line. Now I'm at $1,600!

Not bad, They just upgraded my walmart card about 2-3 months ago to the the walmart discover and bumped it to 2000 was @ 1300. I notice I use it more now often now.

I didn't know they would upgrade that card. They did it automatically? Last time I called about it they said you had to re-apply.

Yeah, thats what they will tell you if yu call. But they do upgrade to the discover automatically. I dont know what their criteria is but they sent me an upgrade offer back in may of '11. They gave a CLI with the upgrade. I did not ask or request for an upgrade either. But I did accet it. Please note if they offer the upgrade it will show up as a new card with the month the upgrade was offered. so it will affect your AAoA if you have a limited AAoA.

Very nice to know. Kinda sucks too though. Its about the same as applying for the Discover version of the card.

opened my walmart card on 5-30-11 started out with $700.00,hit the luv button today 9-4-11 and got a $300.00 credit increase now im up to $1000.00,I think thats pretty good for my first increase,does any one no what it takes to up grade to the walmart discover card,any input would be great,thanks.

how long did you have your walmart card before you got upgraded to discover,what was your credit limit on your walmart card,mine just hit $1000.00 today trying to find out about the up grade ive only had my card for 4 months does that matter

I want to request a CLI today but before I do I just want to make sure this is gonna be a soft inquiry and not affect me applying for Discover in December.

All the times I requested a CLI on any of my GEMB cards including the Walmart card was a soft pull. Lots of other posts and threads reported soft pulls when requesting a CLI online. Apparantely GEMB has been kind of generous lately when they approve your CLI request. Good luck if you decide to go for it!

Awesome, congrats! If you don't mind me asking, what was your CL before the CLI? I'm just curious on the amount of the increase. I plan to ask for CLI at the end of the month.

Thanks. My limit was $405 so it was a $745 increase. I checked my score also and it was 709 as of 10/4/11.

I literally just got my Walmart card (haven't even used it yet) and tried to get a CLI from the measly $400 that they gave me to start. No go. I tried to tell them I wanted to make a large purchase and use the 0% APR Holiday thing but they wouldn't budge. Oh well, I can only hope they bump it up after a few months.

Thanks UFGuy. My last CLI was last December which was also my only increase. The initial CL was $300 - then $405 - now $1150. My plan was to do another in April but decided against it. Today was the day! :-)

is this the credit card you can apply for when you go to wal mart? every time i check out at the register i see the application for the card but i always thought it was a prepaid loadable card

Yes, and you can also apply online. Sometimes the cashiers ask you if you wanna apply right then and there.

with walmart if I am not mistaken, you can request a CLI on the forth month of a new account?
