BOA product change possible??

I see people sometimes do an amex product upgrade/change. Is it possible with BOA?? I have a platium plus visa but I want the BOA amex.

No clue.. maybe call and ask them if you get no response here.

I'm thinking the boa amex is a fairly new card so no one has any experience on the change?

I called BOA few days ago about changing my Visa to Amex. They said I could do it after 12 months.

I just spoke to a BoA customer service rep about the possibility of changing my BoA World Points Visa to a World Points MC (they can). While f was on the phone, I asked if they can change someone's Platinum Plus Visa to a BoA Amex, and they said they can!

DH + I have both been BofA VISA customers since 2002.
DH gets periodic offers in the mail to upgrade (no new app, soft pull) to the BofA AMEX, i do not.
he has checking + savings accounts with BofA, i do not.
we have joint mortgage + HELOC with them.

we have discussed him adding AMEX to his mix, but we are waiting until they sweeten the deal with lower APR (he is currently at 10.9% + higher CL

i also lost the last preapproved upgrade letter so i opened a chat with their CS + they told me that you can just call the number on the back of your card + they can do product change over the phone.

ok.. I just called and the rep told me, I would have to apply for the amex and then either combine or close the visa to just have one. Maybe I should call again and get another rep???

call again. they give you the run around, all you have to do is get to the right CS agent. Make sure you use the phrase "product change".

This is a major or bank card, as was the Visa. Visa, MC, Disc and Amex get rated higher in scoring than retail cards (store and gas cards.)

BofA is generally considered a "prime" lender, whatever that means. There really isn't a definition of prime, sub-prime, semi-prime, etc.

ok.. its been about 2 weeks now and nothing. Not even a change in my online banking menu. I called BOA today and was told that all she could see was that the request was submitted on the day I called. Can a product change be declined???
