Question about applying for new AMEX

I have had the Costco TrueEarnings card since May with a limt of $2000. I hit the luv button last week and was approved for a CLI to $6000. I would also like to apply for the Blue Cash Everyday or Preferred. Should I wait to apply since I just got the CLI?

Both my scores on Myfico are around 760.

I have been using the TrueEarnings card a lot but never letting more than $150 report.

You could go to the AMEX pre~approval website to see if you are "prequalified". It's not a guarantee that you will be approved but it might help....

I would apply... make sure you log in, it gives you the short application form, very nice!

I would apply as well. With a 760 and what appears to be a good relationship with AMEX I don't think you'll have a problem getting approved.

I've been with AMEX for 10 years now and I have yet to see a button to click on to do a CLI and I can only conclude that I'm just not seeing it.

It's not in an obvious location. Go to your recent activity and then at the bottom left it's right above or below where it shows your closing date.

I have little faith in the "prequalified" offers from AmEx, when it comes to deciding to App for a revolver CC. It's my belief that their "Pre..." offers are limited to their charge cards. Though; you may be able to use your charge card prequalifications, to give you an idea if you will be approved for a revolver.

To date; I've *never* been prequalified for any "revolver" CCs from AmEx.

Yet: I have the following:

- Blue Cash (revolver) 10.8k CL (note: I do have the 'upgrade' link to BCP)

- Mercedes AmEx (revolver) $2k CL

I am currently "pre-approved" for:

- Zync

- Green

- PRG

- Platinum

Edit: Clarified the "Pre's" the AmEx site indicates; from Pre-qualified to Pre-approved.

What are the conditions for AMEX to backdate? Why would waiting till Jan. 1st help?

your report would have 10 more months of histroy.

My backdating exp is cards opened in Oct. my reports say opened 10 / 91. if i would have waitied to jan 2012 it would say 1/91

Wow. That is sweet. Your new card ends up looking older than your original card.
