I am thinking of applying for a target card, can anyone tell me what score I would need?

Pretty sure it's EQ they pull and 620-650 I would say... use to be little easier... not sure of exact score needed.... I Have 4, and I have gotten them at all different credit ratings including while in BK but don't think even while in BK I was under 590 when I got approved. and approved for just $200

It is not by score cus I have 709 fico for eq and was declined because of inquries

WOW, Target is actually getting picky about INQ! ugh these banks drive me nuts with inq... they didn't use to be I can say... I have like 50-60 on my EQ, I think 95% of them fall off by 2-12 but would have to go look

well yes auto... I probably have50-70% auto, I shopped around banks when I bought my car, 6 months later shopped it around, shopped it again at about 12 months and finally shopped it around 2 weeks ago and finally refi it. so think most are coming off except the 4 I got a couple weeks ago for car and 2 for credit cards.

hmmm, you will have to let us know if Amazon pulled EQ or TU for you... I got Walmart and PayPal MC 2 weeks ago with TU and then Amazon was declined and they pulled EQ... is the 584 EQ in your signature recent? sigh these GE computers conuse me how they decide approve or not!

We will have to get update from poster because I had EQ pulled for Amazon... oh wait my mistake, they pulled ALL 3... totally forgot! (I liked it when I forget, now I'm mad about the 3 inq! it's like Cap1!

Well I may have lucked out on the 3 pull reacharound I have freezes on EX/EQ at the time. Maybe thats why I just got hit on TU...

I'd recommend freezing them all just to keep yourself in check, Thats what I do, makes me think a lil harder "do I really need this" and then I have to lift the freeze at home compared to just apping anytime in-store or anywhere.

I got a Target card with a $200 starting limit when my scores were all in the 560s. After a year of responsible use and management, the limit increased to $1000. Unfortunately, it has stayed that way for two years, even though I use the card pretty regularly. In fact, I just bought a new flatscreen TV from target.com using the card. I get the impression that they are very, very conservative with CLIs, unlike Walmart.

I personally would say they are stupid not conservative but at the same time even though you don't really ever see CLI past the initial up to 1k if your lucky, they are not all that stupid, they own the bank and that little red card generates more revenue then all stores put together... I should probably google and check this because it's probably been more than 5 years since I read the fact.

I have 4 Target Red Cards, I was rotating them for a while but now I just use the card with the 1k limit and the others sit... I run between $400-800 a month through it and I have not seen increases on any of the 4 cards since that card went to 1k back in 2008? or 9.... lot of us on the boards got it... forget the year.
