I received the my first Experian score off of the service that Credit One has for its cardholders and mine for the month of Nov was 523. Can 13 inquiries over a period of 6 to 7 months cause this to happen. The score on the CreditExpert (crappy service that I need to drop) for the end of Nov had my score at 602 (and they all did not occur in Nov)? I need a good credit monitoring service. If I am going to do this, I need to do this right. And just paying my balances on time and above the minimum is not enough.

13 inq on 6-7 months can definitely cause a score drop. Keep in mind that even though this scoring model is not a FICO score, it is a good way to judge th direction of your scores. I do reccommend however, occasionally looking at your true FICOs. That and the new accounts you have reporting. Give it six months and keeep uti low and you should definitely see an improvement.

Brammy, can my score drop this much? I know eventually I will have to travel to what would be analagous to Credit Mordor and throw my ring into the fire. And it will be a stressful experience. I am talking about confronting some big baddies in my credit report that will take some time, planning, and execution to remove. I cant do this all at once. I need to show that I can be a trustworthy customer to my creditors. That is why I am focusing some my efforts towards learning prudent ways to manage and build my credit with the 7 cards that I have.

You say you have some big baddies on your report. Check to se the date they last updated. With your new found credit, it could have sent a trigger to any collector who has had their nose to the ground and they may be about to start up. The first thing they would do is update the info to the bureaus and the sttus date chaning could affect the recency of the collection causing your score to drop. They tend to do that when they receive triggers that you are applying for new credit.

I don't look like Billy Dee, but I am going need his swagger to get through this purge and rebuilding period without losing my mind.
