Who does Target usually pull? Also what scores do they usually like to see? Thanks

They pulled Ex for me I believe. At least they soft Ex every three months

if i knew better i would never have appd target. most get a 200cl and who knows if or when you will ever get the visa upgrade. it's another card that i'm thinking about shutting down.

honestly i can't recall who they pulled though. i hear they soft ex to decide who gets upgraded.

When i apply last October they pull EQUIFAX .

They pulled EQ for me and gave $200 CL. I am not sure if it really worth a hard for that amount of CL.

I meant EQ. Yep sae limit not sure if it was worth it but they did upgrade me.

Hi Brammy, how long did they take before they upgraded your account? Did you also start with 200 CL like all of us? What did they upgrade you to? What was your card usage before they upgraded your account?

From what I have read here, I would not app target unless I shopped there all the time and PIF. They appear from what I have read to give really horrible CLI's and I think I read, could be wrong and may be thinking about another card, that they don't give CLI's over the phone anymore?

Does anyone know about asking for CLI's? Or am I thinking about another card?

net, you're correct. target does not do customer initiated cli's. i appd before i started lurking here, but now i'm just alibying.

They offfered upgrade at a yr with a 1k limit. Still sucky... I hardly every used the store card. I did use the visa more often but never for more than 100.00 and of course always PIF.

So Ducky and Brammy would you say that you do NOT recommend this card? Inquiring minds want to know.

I am just thinking that it doesn't grow w/ you...kind of like my HSBC that has only grown to 500 when I have much, much bigger CL's to use...

that's my line of thought. won't, slow at best to grow. if it ever does the rate is way high.

it's one of the cards i've offered to chop in order to obtain a cu visa. i've had it w/accounts that have high rates, no real rewards, high rates and won't take the training wheels off!

Like most store cards, this is one of those YMMV things, and it depends on how often you shop at the store in question.
I love my Target RedCard, but that's because we spend a ton of money at Target, and have for years. Those 10% off rewards really come in handy if you're a frequent shopper. I'm still at the crappy $200 CL, but will be looking for my auto-CLI to $500 this month hopefully.

I've heard different thoughts on the card. I have heard CLIs well into 6-7k BUT looking at the T&Cs itjst seems that he interest rate is prohibative for any real use. Nothing they offer would inspire me to charge that much on the card unless they were offering a heck of a APR for balances and they are the highest APR card I have. I've heard of special offers for interest rates in the 9% range.

For me its jsut not a valuable card. Im not working for Target, I want Target to work for me.

Word on the street is that the auto-CLI from $200 to $500 generally happens on the third billing cycle, although there is nothing "automatic" about it. They are known to be a bit unpredictable.

Is there any AF for the Target Visa Card? If there is no AF, I would wait for the CLI for about a year and let them issue me a Visa Card with at least 1k CL. That way account can age nicely and add to my CR. If it is less than 1K and not a Visa, I might close it. It is been 2 months since I opened the card. I'll wait couple of more months and see if they give CL.

No annual fee on the Visa. The APR is almost the same as the store card tho.

Hi Brammy, when they upgraded your card, did they add a new entry for the visa card or did they remove the old entry and add the new visa card number. I want to see if we can keep the history when they upgarde the account to visa.

The tradeline just converted to the Visa card, all history and everything. Can't even tell it was once a store.
