What CC do you think I can get approved for?

Okay so, I know the best way for you guys to tell me what CC I would get approved for is by telling you my FICO score...but I don't have that, so we will have to play a guessing game!

I have 1 credit card, 7 months of on-time payments, currently sitting at 39% util of my $750 CL...

I have 5 inquires, one was 4 months ago. 2 will pop off in september.

CreditKarma FAKO score: 701 CreditSesame FAKO score: 690

I don't plan on applying RIGHT NOW, I plan on applying when my next statement reports, at which point I will have 0% utilization. Which should raise my FAKO scores by a decent amount. In regards to the Zync, I don't know if I would get approved, but I really don't want to pay that annual fee! ;( Attaching my inquires incase anyone is interested lol

Is the Cap one your only open account?

How long is your credit history?

Any baddies?

Inquiries and scores are only part of the equation that you need to look at.

If your age of accounts is only 6 months it may be best to garden for another 6 months, build some age and then look at it.

Really? I heard you have a decent chance of getting a decent card after you have had your first one for 6 months and have established some credit history...

AmEx may be hard with only 6 months. Another 6 without apps would do you good. Have you entertained the free 10 day trial of EQ scorewatch here?

Yeah, AmEx is a stretch! I really want a Discover More card, with some casback, but I am scared, haha.

Have you tried the Discover site's link to check for cards offered to you? The check for offers will not result in a hard pull unless you apply for a card.

haha, yep! I have been doing alot of lurking on this forum, and others. I have tried everyyy "search" for pre-approved offers, no bites. However, the reason Citi denied me on that last app was because I didn't have sufficiant credit history. Back then, I only had like 3 months, now I think with 7, I should be good?

Not sure, not too much experience with Citi. Have you received any mailings from them? I've been getting offers to apply for Citi Diamond Preferred more frequently, but haven't bitten. I read Citi and Chase are kinda tough, although I did just get in with AmEx, so an app for one of those two may be in the works shortly.

I'd wait at least at least a years worth of reporting on that Cap1 card to get better results. I know from personal expreience its easier to get an AmEX charge card then revolver but I hear that its a good way to get in the door with them. YMMV good luck !

Oh wow, I thought AmEx was the hardest to get! Guess I'll skipp on Citi. I haven't gotten any CC offers in the mail, just one offer for a cell phone contract...which is useless lol. Maybe I will wait till I have 1 year and try for the AmEx BCE or something. By then, I will only have 3 inquires

I have read that an AmEx charge is "easier" than a revolver, and that was also the case for me. What I said about Citi and Chase is only what I've read here, as I have yet to apply with either of them.

I was declined twice for the Zync card before being approved for Green, but I also had a TL that I was unaware of removed. I applied for a revolver immediately after approval of Green, but was declined as well, short history cited. YMMV, good luck!

One year of history will be much better than only 7 months! I think that is your best plan of action.

Amex zync now before 2011 ends for backdating purpose. Worst you could get is denial and 3 hard inqs, one on each bereaus BUT if approved, "member since 11" will help a lot for AAoA boost.

That's would be bad. Besides, I do not ever remember reading AmEx pulling all three, EX and TU yes (sometimes when apping for a Charge Card).

The scores you provided in your OP, pay no attention to them, not one bit, they are Fako's they mean nothing.

Now another thing, FICO likes a little util, but you only having one card, I'm not sure which would be best for you (0% util or like 1-9% util) however, I personally would not app for an AmEx with only 7 months of history, only one CC, 4 inq's within the last 7 months. But that's just me, I'm very cautious when it comes to things like this.

But if you do decide to app for an AmEx I suggest going for the Zync, everything I've ever read here at myFico suggests that the Zync is the easiest card to obtain from AmEx.

I'd personally hold off just a bit longer from trying to get "Prime" cards, I think you need a bit more history first.

I wanted to apply for the Zync because I read youp only need 6+ months of good history, as opposed to 1 year+ with there other cards. My only reason for not applying right now is because I believe my Utilization is too high right now, and I have 5 Inq. On top of that, as much as I want the Zync, I don't want the AF ;/

Maybe If I wait for 1 year of history, I can go for the BCE and that will be the card I really want, and no AF.

I got 3 hps for my amex zync app back in april this year and I had 7-8 months history at the time, with 3 inqs on ex, 1 on eq, 1 on TU, 1% utilization.

That's my first amex and for short history folks like me, they usually pull all 3 bereaus.

Wait for at least 1 year and then try AMEX-Chase-CITI

IF your scores are decent, you could go for an AMEX revolver (BCE)
