Amazon Store Card....Approved

Just approved for the Amazon Store Card....CL given was $600. does the card grow with time, and do they give good CLI. Do they expect heavy usage to get CLI's? I want to get a Lowes Store card at a later date.

Congrats on the card. I have been thinking about the Lowes card too for home projects. I think they pull TU. LEt me know how that turns out.

yes, it will grow with you. i LOVE my amazon card i have gotten a CLI about every 5 months, & i've had it for about a year & a half.

Woo hoo - congrats eparker! I just applied a moment ago and was also instantly approved for $900 I plan to use the $10 bonus on an exchange I'll be making and might use the 0% for some large purchases. Otherwise, this card was to help build history to get either Slate or Sapphire in July, 2012!

At time of app, 703 EX / 703 EQ / 697 TU from Experian Direct (and a whopping 70% UTIL across my current cards with low limits)

Congrats. So far I have seen an increase and have only had the card since about Sept. Plus that means you are probaly good with GECRB and they service over 500 accounts. Be good paying them and they will take care of you.

Can you PC from partner cards to none partner cards? But thats a good starting CL with Chase!

Doubtful, since I doubt one bank would want to lose its business to another bank just for the sake of what a customer wants.

how would chase let you PC to their card??? i don't even think you can PC from a GECRB card to another...

Thats my question, is it possible to PC to non Chase partner card. So if you apply for the Chase Amazon card then gets approved, wait a little then PC to the Freedom Card? Is it possible?

My experience with CLI's with GECRB has not been good but YMMV.

Congrats! Nice card to have for Amazon aficionados. I love it. Of course it is only well suited for convenience users who never carry a non-promo balance. Have used the zero percent financing a couple of times recently and paid off balance in 6-8 weeks on 6 month zero percent promos.

The only issue is if things ever go south for a card holder, the 26.99ish APR is somewhat usurious... in any case, it's similar to most other cards in this (store card) category.

IME Amazon is a good hub for consumer f/b and to place well conceived purchases (good deals abound and so convenient but a significant number of items are priced better elsewhere as well.)

Started at 400 CL IIRC and am now up around around 3k over 36 months or so. This nice growth span came with generally very light to light usage 30-100 monthly spending. The most I've run through it is about 750, and just recently, after having already landed an almost 3k CL with rather marginal usage.

It's one of few 'store cards' that can never be app or used in a brick and mortar store

It is reportedly possible to PC Chase Amazon Visa to another Chase product YMMV but OP posted about the GECRB (formerly GEMB) Amazon store card.

I was also approved for the Amazon Store Card for a $1800 credit limit when I wanted to buy a Macbook pro last month. Surprising considering I just have 7 months credit history.

I made a purchase using their 12 month interest free scheme. Does the entire outstanding amount report as balance to CRAs every month?

yes, just as a regular credit card would.
