Bill Me Later now has LOCs

I recently made a purchase using Bill Me Later and not only did that not do an INQ on my credit report, I got a line of credit to use through any company that uses Pay pal. I have been a customer of theirs for a few years now so I don;t know if they do that for new accounts. No reporting to the CRAs and 0% for 6 months on any purchase over $100. I love BML.

Yep, I love Bill Me Later :3 and they usually check EQ or TU and not Ex.

I LOVE Bill Me Later too.. It's nice having an account that I can use to make significant purchases with, rack up a little debt, pay it off in a timely manner and NONE of it is Fico's business, lol..

This is one thing I've always been curious about, so based on what I've just read here in this thread, Bill Me Later will not HP your report/s (not that it matters all my reports are froze) and if you use BML it does not show up on your reports as a new TL?

If this is the case, it sounds like an excellent (secret from your credit reports) way to purchase something and pay over time without my credit reports ever knowing about it (of course unless you default)

I have a PayPal Smart Connect Card 2150CL, is BML totally seperate from that?

In the meantime I'm going to do some searches here on the Forum, now that you all have me thinking about this.

No snow yet. Frankly wouldnt bother me if it didnt snow at all. But I fear that once we get snow, we are going to get hammered. It's Massachusetts, it can rain, snow, sleet, hail and have sun in the same day.

I was reading some other BML posts, it seems that they do an initial HP to open the account but they do not report to the credit bureaus. Also read that their APR can be outrageous.

They do a Hard Pull when you open your account and were doing soft pulls for increases above your purchasing power.

I opened a "Bill Me Later" account this summer, there wasn't - and has never been an HP.

I just looked on their website and it had an asterisk saying "subject to credit approval". Maybe some people lucked out?

Maybe they do a soft then if your score is below a certain threshold, the do a hard?

Hello All. I have a BML account. Was a Pre-Approval at check out during one of my PayPal purchases. There was never a HP for the account. They have softed me for my large purchases only. I have read here that they only report to the CRAs when you are seriously delinquent on account. I love my BML account. Never been turned down for a purchase yet.

Ok, this is my experience with BML, they HP on the initial app BUT they do not report to the CB's only if you default on your payment. I luv luv luv it, I have a limit of $5000 & I get to pay on it every month without it showing on my reports, as long as you pay at least the minimum your good to go. As for the Paypal smart connect, that reports every month to the CB. Hope this helps

Ok, just got off the phone with James @ Bill ME Later,

I first asked him if using BML would report to the CRA's, answer was no, BML is between the borrower and the lender.

Second question I asked, when applying for a BML account, is it hard or soft, I was told soft, I explained to James that I'm a Member of this Forum and there are reports that some Members have been hard pulled, he told me to inform those members that BML WILL REMOVE the hard inq's from those of you who have been HP'd, he said to call 1-866-528-3733, because you should have only been softed not HP'd, so for those of you who have been HP'd for apping for a BML account, I suggest calling that number.

I have no idea if James at BML is correct, but I did ask him several times about the HP, and he assured me, that it is ALWAYS a soft, he actually advised me to report this info back to the Forum Members who have been HP'd.

There was much more that we spoke about, but I'm really not feeling like typing here for 3 hours But after talking with James, BML sounds like a pretty cool way to make purchases and revolve the charge without affecting your credit.

From my experiene they either do a HP or don't and in my case they did a HP. My sister applied for BML and somehow it showed up on my credit report as a HP. After contacting them and the cra the HP was removed after they realized it was their mistake for pulling the wrong credit report in the first place.

I was looking at their application page and it definitely looks like a soft since it only asks you the last 4 of your social (just like Cap One and Discover offers)
