What is your credit line? how many CC do u have? Why did you apply your cards?

As of Jan 9 2012, my goal is only 8 credit cards. I dont want to get over 10 credit cards because I think it is not a good idea to have over 10 credit cards. How about you guys?

Amex blue-------------------------$25.400 (appled because It gave me a lot of points, my Amex major card now)

Amex delta-------------------------$9,000 (applied for fun, rarely use it)

BoA Plantinum Plus-------------$4,000 (because this card provides overdraft with my bank of america)

Chase Freedom Visa----------- $22,500 (I really love this card, my Visa major card now)

Citi Dividend Master Card-----$7,800 ( got bonus, my Master major card now)

Discocver More------------------$8,000 (great with their program bonus mall, my Discover major card now)

Walmart Discover---------------$700 (just to see my FICO score, dont want to use this card)

Welfargo Visa---------------------$1,500 (because this card provides overdraft with my bank Wellfargo)

So far, I have Visa, Master, Amex, Discover in my wallet. I can go anywhere with my wallet. I am very happy about these cards. These cards are very excellent, and they are my 4 major card. I have received a lot of bonus, cash back from these cards. I really dont know what cards should I get from now on? I think I will increase these credit lines . What card will you suggest for me to apply after these cards? How about you?

What did you have to do to get an AmEx limit over $25k? Seems like that's the limit without getting the spanish inquisition.

Cap1 Platinum: $500

Cap1 Cash Back: $500

Total Limit: $3000

By Spring my Cap1 Cash Back should go up to $750 and I'm hoping Barclay's will up me to $2500. That would put me at $3,750 in total credit.

I regret opening the Capital One card. My oldest card (closed now) is from 2002, so adding a bunch of cards really hurt my AAoA.

Just recently went from $6k on the HHonors to what I requested, $10.5k, instantly after request.

Citi Forward - $4000

Edit: Chase BP is a mix between Penfed (5% gas except only at BP) and Amex TrueEarnings (2% restaurants and travel), all the others I'm sure ppl are familiar with

I might go for the NFCU cash rewards card someday just because it's 1.5% after $10k. It'd make a good "all other categories" card. For now I have enough to meet my needs. Maybe after my AAoA recovers I'll look into it.

Honestly if I was looking to maximize every reward cent possible I'd do a Chase Freedom for the 5% categories that don't overlap with Discover More, Sapphire for the 2% on dining, PenFed for fuel, and NFCU for everything else. But that's a lot of cards to carry around, pay off, and remember which one to use all the time, and remind my wife which one to use all the time. Yes I know there are some of you guys that have spreadsheets and formulas for all that but I have enough to keep me occupied.

*Yes I know Citi Foward does 5x points on dining but I am not a fan of the Thank You points program. 1 point isn't always 1%.

**I know Capital One Cash effectively gives you 1.5% on all purchases but I prefer to steer clear of Cap1 altogether.

Between the wife and I, we've got 30 of the darn things.

total credit line= $35,225.00

total balances= $20,655.17.

Overall util = 58.6%

Someday, I'd like to obtain bigger, better (balance transfer) cards, but not this year...too many inquiries.

I am very proud of my crop right now. I will be 21 next month and I think I am doing pretty good for my age.

Capital One Platinum MC - CL $500 - 9/10

Amazon Store Card - CL $1200 - 5/11

Care Credit - CL $2000 - 9/11

And in the last two days I was approved for;

Capital One Cash Rewards MC - CL $3,000

Citi Forward - CL $2,500

Total Credit Line - $9,200

I currently have balances totaling $991 which will put my UTL at 11%

I had to share. I was approved for the Citi card about 20 minutes ago so I'm still very excited!
