First off congrats on getting your scores up! BOA is considered a prime bank - it's one of the "big four" banks along with JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, and Wells Fargo. Their Cash Rewards card is a great prime card to start out with. It's much improved over the last version which was just 1% back. I believe it is now 3% gas, 2% groceries, 1% everything else up to $1500 per quarter. I started out with a BOA student card, 2nd card was their Cash Rewards card, and they helped me build a nice credit history so that I could qualify for more desirable cards later on. Best of luck!

Edit: Just wanted to add they have always pulled Experian for me. And if you take a look at the rewards this card is not far off from the Amex BCE

Just a quick update, I called BofA today to apply for the cash reward card. 1,2,3% and $100 cash bonus. He couldn't tell me which report they pulled, but it should be either EX or TU (if it was EQ, i doubt they even gonna approve me). I got instant approve for $5000. What a great feeling, Now I am 4 for 4 since rebuilding

Worst case scenario if you don't get approved for the BCE you can always call to recon to start with a smaller limit and/or ask to be approved for the Zync if you are trying to get in with Amex.

I tend to agree. It's certianly not a lock for BCE but I would say you have a better than average chance. Your history is a little thin but not impossible. I would check and see what CR they pulled. If it's not EX I would give it a shot. If you go get turned down you would be all but a lock for a charge card to start building a history with them. Just be aware that if you apply for both a revolver and a charge it will be two hard pulls. If you don't want to chance a denial just get one of there charge cards. A Zync has a lot AF and usually has a sign up bonus big enough to pay that fee for a couple of years. Just give it some decent use and in six months go for the BCE/BCP.

That's a good idea, but I don't plan to get any charge card. I will only pay 30 something dollars AF for my orchard card only.

Just checked credit karma and it just poped up a hard on my TU. So it looks like they only pulled TU but not EX. Its not a suprise tho, since BofA only soft pulled me with the offer on my TU(based on my TU report pull on 1/1/2012).

So I am gonna try for BCE later tonight lol

The Zync right now has a promo for 10,000 points upon first use, enought to pay the AF for four years. Go and sign up for creditsesame.com, it's free and pulls from EX.

Even though you don't know your EX Fico I would say it would be close to your TU score since they are both clean of any negatives. In other words your chances of being approved for the BCE is good at this time.
