Hello All,

I was interested in applying for the USAA World MasterCard and tried to find this information on their site but couldn't. Can anyone apply for a credit card with USAA or do you need to be a member? If you do need to be a member, do you need to belong to a specific organization?

Also, has anyone been recently approved for the card? If so, what was your FICO/util?

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!

I am a partial member, signed up online to become one. As a partial member I can do most banking there and am eligible for one type of visa/mc. I am not sure if it is the World.

Signing up was fairly easy and free. No hard pull for that much, but there may be one to open a bank account and definitely one for credit

The USAA Financial Services arm is different than their insurance one; namely, anyone can get an account, loan, or credit card there. It is not restricted in the same way their insurance products are.

Anyone can open an account with this bank. If you have a military affiliation you will be considered a FULL member, otherwise you will be considered a partial member. There is no hard credit pull-inquiry to open an account. USAA is a bank and not a credit union. If you apply for any of their credit products, a hard pull-inquiry from Equifax will take place. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Hope this helps!

As far as I know, that is correct. AmEx products are for full members. I was told this info by a USAA rep I used to see here at this site, haven't seen any recent posts from her though.
