Ditch Cap One?

So, i'm debating on getting rid of my cap one card. I've had it almost a year and it only has a $750 limit and a $39 AF. Not to keen on the AF since they won't increase credit line (already tried) I do have a several other cards that I would probably just fine without having it.

I have:

NFCU nRewards Visa $10,000 limit

NFCU Cash Rewards Visa $5,000 limit

Chase Slate $3,000 limit

Discover More $1,500 limit

Barclay Apple Card $1,300 limit

Amex Zync NPSL

So after all that i'm thinking it might be time to either sock drawer it or just cut it loose bc i have a hard time justifying the annual on something that will not grow probably until about 10 years from now to $1,000. Any thoughts?

With the great cards that you have,, I would ditch Cap one in a heartbeat. YOu wont lose the age ,you will only lose the $750 CL..Ditch it !

I have a cap one that has reached its celing of $1100 with $39 AF. They wont PC so before the AF hits, I will ditch the card.

I'd ditch it also.. You have some awesome cards and those NFCU ones will grow!!

Crap One is just awful once you get out into the Prime Card teritory.

I have on that is going on 10 yrs old, no AF but they won't PC it, won't give me a CLI.. it sits in the sock drawer and there it will stay until they decide to close it. If it had an AF I'd close it myself.

I really need too, i guess it served its purpose lol But i could think of a few ways to get rid of it. Maybe chop it up and throw it into my fire pit while i sit back and drink a cold one! =)

Or call Cap one to see if they would waive this years AF.

Yea that doesn't sound nearly as fun as getting rid of it! lol Too bad threats don't work with them like they use to.

Yea I think its time to take Cap1 card out to the pasture and put it out of its misery......

Did threats ever work with them? Whenever I called to ditch them, they were only too happy to limit the potential loss of 500 bucks.....it was like thank you for allowing us to keep Crap One the conservative company it is by eliminating that liability sir!

Ditch the card.

Cap1 doesn't seem prone to graduate customers from whatever tier the relationship began. There's really no point asking them to waive the AF (more than once) or begging for a CLI. If you really, really... Really want a relationship with them simply apply for a newer product after canceling the $750 limit card.

I think there's a point in every rebuilds journey where any credit limit is helpful. Once you're past that, some products don't make sense.

Capital One does not believe in extending customers CLIs pretty much ever but has the nerve to feature commercials on TV asking "What's in your wallet?" or talking about "making it rain". Well, it's most certainly not my Capital One card that's making it rain or ever seeing the light of day. Heavy use of the card doesn't even warrant them giving you a CLI, so I don't even use my card any more. The only reason I keep it open is for the history.

Putting it in the shredder may sound fun, but I have a different plan of attack with my two Crap1 cards.

I'm going to set them up about 50 yards away on a tree, then I'm going to take out my Ruger 10/22 sight them in and put about 12 holes in each one, then I'm going to take my SW 9MM and unload one clip on each card, and if there's anything left, I'll stand about 15 yards away with my Mossberg 12 gauge with 3" 00 buckshot and finish them off!!!

Now that's a proper way to get rid of a Crap1 Card/s.
