What do you guys think of the Wal-Mart card? I shop there for groceries 1-2 times a month and it'd be kind of cool to get a monthly TU score. What do you guys think of it? What kind of CLs do they give out to begin with?

I enjoy my Walmart card but honestly it stays sock drawered since I get more cash back with my BofA card 2% at grocery stores. You get nothing back in the way of rewards unless you get the Discover version. I do use it once and a while and pay it right off at the register to keep it active. You get good CLIs especially around the holidays. I also enjoy the free TU FICO although be warned it's not the same score as the scores here on myfico but a good guide. Also there were some inaccuracies on my FICO score from Walmart but I think that will correct itself. I have an entire post on here somewhere about this problem. The thing I enjoy most as a Walmart shopper as well is the great financing offers you get throughout the year. Like when school was starting, they offered interest free financing on all school supplies and laptop computers for 6 months. For the holidays they had 12 month interest free offers for any purchase made in the store by December 31st that is a great deal!. Also you can save 5cents per gallon if you use your card at the Walmart gas stations. That adds up! Hope all this rambling info helps!!

Financing (especially at 0%) would be nice for electronics purchases around the holidays. And 5 cents a gallon is nice for gas. I drive a gas guzzler and I always look around town for the best deals on gas. The only downside is there really isn't a WM that close to me where I could get gas. It's about 10-15 minutes away. I'm not really looking for rewards. I already have an Old Navy card where I get $10 back for every $200 I spend and a Lane Bryant card with the same kinds of rewards. I also have two cards where I get airline miles as well. I may try for the WM card. Not sure.

It is a good card to have if you shop at Walmart a lot. They only approved me for $640 in 2005. They didn't have any Walmart Discover. Recently. I got approved for Walmart Discover for $2.2K. They pulled TU. By the way, it gives you TU FICO as bonus monthly.

Ron.
