Chase can issue a Platinum if you do not want Signature/World, however now that they report CL's for NPSL products, I don't see why anyone would want a lower card tier.

Visa signature approval question

I applied for a southwest card through Chase in late December and got (appropriately, if I'm being honest) denied. After seeing the success some had calling the backdoor number for reconsideration, I gave it a shot and got approved, with a "credit limit" of $5000. Yay. Cut to this weekend, card still hasn't arrived and I begin to worry I dreamed the whole thing. So I call the automated status line and hear that I'm approved with a "credit access line" of $5000. I thought that term was usually associated with visa signature cards (which southwest card can be), so my question is this: am I getting a visa signature card? I know I can wait for the card to find out, but since my whole purpose in undertaking to improve my credit was to get a card with a decent limit and concierge service, this would be a pretty big deal to me. Thanks

When I was approved for my PNC card it told me that they had "upgraded" me to the visa signature in the e-mail I recieved and on the approval page. Maybe with Chase it is different. I have seen cards though with more than a 5,000 limit and not be visa signature. I suppose if you get it and it isn't you could inquire about why it isn't. Even though my card is a visa signature it still tells me the limit when I logon and does report the limit to the bureaus so I guess different issuers have different practices.

Oh I absolutely want the signature. I'm glad to here they report a limit now, though honestly it isn't a big concern for me. I'm an au on wife's card with 16k limit that we use once a month for Netflix and I don't carry balances (though I do allow one to report something small each month). Not worried about utilization. Just pumped to be able to get last minute dining/show tix while traveling.

Yeah congrats and you should post a pic of the card on the Pictures thread. I don't think a SW card has been posted yet.
