BoA upgrade question

Hi there, I received a letter dated 12/13 that my secured BoA Platinum Visa is being upgraded to an unsecured account and I'd see the deposit credited back to my checking account. Does anyone have experience in how long this process usually takes? Is BoA good about giving CLI's or product transfers for upgraded cards? Thanks!

boa is imho the best secured product i've heard of. they are known to cli upon graduation, congrats!

I got that same letter last year. The same day I got news my card was already transferred.

Hi yes Boa is the best, as soon as u get call for a cli, u will get upon the history you have w/ them, when I started w/ them my card had only $300.00 limit, but I would spend $1200 - $1600 a month and after graduation they raised my limit $ 1000.00 . A month after I called them and Told them is not enough and they raised me to $ 2500 well to make story short 1 year after graduation my limit w/ them is $4500 .

I don't have it but from everything on this board I have read they are very good at the product change and people still have the reg. card for years...seems like one of the best rebuilder products from what I have read on the board.

They sent me deposit by check.

Hi Mizsass, when did you first open your 99/500 account with BOA? How many months it took them make your account unsecure? I have a 99/500 account and wondering how long it would take for them to make it unsecure.

Hi Concorduser, I actually didn't have the 99/500 card, I had a fully secured card with a $300 deposit. It took exactly one year for it to be upgraded to an unsecured card. Hope that helps! Thanks,

Thanks wmarat! Maybe I'll be getting a check then, I just figured they'd put it in my checking account since I bank there and I have everything all hooked together. I appreciate all of the replies!

Hola everyone... just wanted to post an update. I inquired about the refund of my deposit and the cs associate told me it will take up to 90 days to be sent back to me. I also requested a CLI and should hear back within the week. Wish me luck!
