topic Citi Thank You Preferred CLI Request in Credit Cards

I tried to get a CLI on my Citi Thank You preferred card which currently has been sitting at $2k for years but was declined because I have EQ frozen. Here is my dilemma...I applied for 2 new citi cards in January...Diamond Preferred and Platinum MC...Approved for both and each have a limit of $4,800. I haven't done any BT's yet. I want to get a CLI on my Thank You Preferred and be higher than the new cards so I am willing to get a hard pull but trying to figure out if I should first do a BT on one of my new cards so that Citi can see me taking advantage of BT. What do you guys think?

I don't think it really matters when it comes to CITI. If you are willing to pull the trigger on a hard pull for the CLI then go for it.

I too was denied for a frozen EQ on my AA visa CLI requested. I politely told them I refuse to unfreeze or take a hard inq for a CLI except from NFCU...lol The rep didn't know what to say except I'm sorry I couldn't help with your request you sir.. lol
