I have orchard card and I went to hsbc website for pre approval and it says I am pre approved for hsbc platinum card. Can I have 2 cards from hsbc?

I don't see why not. I have 2 Visa Platinum's from WaMu, and a Visa and MC, from Cap1.

Lot's of people here have more than 1 cc from a ccc.

This may be a trick question,

I would call before you apply.
Last I heard HSBC likes issuing only 1 card unless they send an offer for another one (invitation).

I am so pissed right now . You have no idea. I talked to somone on live chat and she told me I can

apply for the 2nd card no problem and it did pre approve me for the 2nd card and when I applied it

says I have maximum number of accounts with hsbc and I just have orchard bank card.

I am calling them to close my orchard credit card account and see what kind of offer they can give me?

Anyone has any idea if I try to close the orchard bank account, what kind of rebuttal they would do? I

have that card for 1 year and 6 months. I never charged more than 10 percent and never late. My exp

score is 648.

Ask to speak to a supervisor and explain the situation to him / her. Tell the supervisor that you would never have applied for the card unless you were sure from the conversation that you were going to get the card.

Explain that they have 2 options. They can reconsider your request for credit (tell them of your good payment history with them) or tell them you want the inquiry recoded to soft.

This is my thoughts.

Thanks for your reply. When I was applying for the second card. I read terms and conditions and it does say that if you are applying for the 2nd card . They might upgrade your account to better rate and cash back.

They are in trouble big time. I can even sue them if i want to.

I hve both an Orchard and an Household as well as a Best Buy all from HSBC so I don't know why they wont allow the second card. I have decided with them a phone call gets you farther than online stuff anyway. How long have you had your Orchard? Maybe you already said I can't remember.

Yeah I too have a bunch of Cards with Household

1)HSBC credit card

2)Household credit card

3)Best buy (also household)

4)HSBC auto loan

I think they were BS about limit of accounts

So far so good I just got it a couple months ago when we bought a new lap top, it's just the store card not the MC they give you higher limits with the store card.

The store card has higher limits than the Master Card? I thought the MC would have higher limits--I've heard that store cards generally are pretty low limits (I don't have any store cards). I think my pre-approved offer was for the MC, but not sure. I'll check tonight.

I have just heard of people getting a higher limit on the store card after apping for the MC and having a limit of like $500. Guess maybe they figure if they give you a low MC and high store you will spend more money with them than some other retailer.

I had an Orchard CC for four years that i just called HSBC and closed. They did not giv eme any trouble about closing the account at all. They were actually very friendly.
