Discover More Student Approved

I feel so guilty. I told myself I wouldn't app until at least April when my newer accounts hit 6 months, but for some reason I just got the crazy urge to app. I was pondering apping on my birthday (March 4th) as a present to myself, but I couldn't wait.

Didn't get instantly approved...had to call in. I was crushed when I saw the 5-7 day message. When I called, the first thing the rep said was "Oh, you go to FSU? I'm a huge FSU fan! Go 'Noles!" I knew I was going to get approved after that. Approved for $500, which is crummy, but my real goal was to get in with Discover, which I accomplished! I've been denied 3 or 4 times by them in the past so I'm happy to finally get my hands on one.

When I asked why the low CL he said they're just starting me off to see how I manage and in 6 months to call in and they'll look at increasing it.

Congrats! Is there any difference between the student and non-student versions?

Not that I can discern. I think the student version is just a little easier to get, with lower CL's. Possibly higher interest, I guess?

The rep said they usually start out at $500 or $800 for the student versions.

Oh and I think they may have pulled more than 1 CR. The loading screen took a REALLY long time after I hit submit. I thought that I had lost a connection and was almost ready to exit out the window until it came to the screen saying they will notify me of a decision.

I need to sign up for one of those monitoring services lol
