I just wanted to say how excited I am! I originally just had a Student Platinum plus, no perks card. I enjoyed it though because the interest rate was pretty low. After reading about how Bank of America does product changes I figured I would give it a try. I initiated the chat session and asked about it, and within a matter of minutes my account had been converted to the 1,2,3 Cash Rewards card I have wanted for quite some time! I asked for an increase, and he said he would attach a note, so who knows if I will get one or not. The other funny thing is, is that I have only had my account open with them since September of 2011. It was a great experience!

Also, if I would have never come across this community, I would have never known I could even do it, with no hard pull involved! Thanks for all your advice guys!

I just went through the same thing. They switched me to the 1,2,3 Americard. It takes a while for them to process the change and get you the new card, but if you get someone good on the phone they can get it to you faster as they did with me. I had to wait 2 weeks for the processing and then got them to overnight me my card. Goodluck and start earning those rewards

I had a PGA Tour Platinum Plus Student Card. It was unsecured. I originally called to just see if they could change the reward system, but they were very easy to deal with and just changed me to the Americard with a new account number and backdated my account.

That's exactly what they did to me, I'm just approaching the 6 month mark for having my card and am seriously hoping for an increase.

Haha I am as well. Actually I think this past week was my 6 months . I should probably check me account tonight and see if I get a CLI. I don't want any hard pulls so an auto cli is the only option. Hopefully BOA comes through

Haha, seeing this, I went ahead and did the exact same thing! Started a chat and after verifying a few pieces of information, the guy told me my account was eligible for a change to the 1 2 3 Cash rewards card! I happily accepted.

I've had my Student Platinum Plus since October '11.

2-3 weeks and I'll have my new card.
