I applied for chase freedom. i was denied. then denied for recon too. i called back once more and asked them to pull another bureau because my util changed. they approved me this time. upon approval, they stated, i would be getting $100 cash back after spending $500. but....after reading on myfico.com that others had luck getting the bonus upped, i insisted that i applied for the $200 bonus. i kept it polite and spoke of fairness. she said she'd put it through and see what she could do but no promises. anywho, today, on my chase.com page i noticed there was 10,000 points for $100 in my account. this is after only one charge of 11.88. upon inspection, i noticed the 10,000 points werel listed under 'adjustments'. anywho, i think i just lucked out and got another free hundred, withought even spending the $500! Thank you myfico forums.

Can't really say you lucked out because i signed up for $200 version and found a $300 version the next day and they manually credited me the extra 10,000 points ($100) before i even received the card.

There is a $300 offer valid right now which i think you can get it adjusted to IF it's been under 90 days since you were originally approved.

Just an FYI, for those who this matters to

APR ranges

$100CB:

11.99-22.99

$200CB

15.99-22.99

$300CB

17.99-22.99

That's the "gocha" the more CB you get, the higer of a minumum APR you may receive.

Nice! Was this a mailed offer? I got one with $300 cash back and 12.99% APR.

ETA: No minimum spending requirement; after first purchase.

You could also send a secured message via your Chase online login to request the extra bonus points to get a total of $300 cash back. I've heard of many success stories.

I signed up in December 2011 and received the $200 bonus. I just contacted them after seeing this thread and the $300 bonus link. After a little over an hour, I received an email that they are giving me the extra $100!

I got my Chase Freedom in November after finding an active offer online for $250 back after spending at least $500 in the first 3 months, and I just requested my check about a week ago. Woohoo!

I asked for the increase tonight through their secured messages. Someone responded quickly with a yes to 20k pts/ $200CB. I have to email them once i spend the $500 in purchases in which they will award it to me.
