Chase Freedom instant approval!

Just applied for an instantly got the Chase Freedom I've wanted for a long time!

Funny thing is, I was told you needed a year of history before getting approved with Chase...I don't have a year of history. Which begs the question, why did I apply in the first place, but whatever; I did and I was approved. Don't know the CL or anything...will probably call tomorrow. But I am ecstatic!

I was denied for the AMEX BCE, but I figured I was too young for that (only had Zync for about 5 months) so I wasn't too shocked or bummed.

But I have a question: if I decide to apply for another Chase card right now, like the Slate, will it result in another HP or will Chase use the same one as the Freedom??

I'm not sure about the 2nd app if its a HP but I wanted to let you know there is currently a better promo of $300 cash back after spending $500 in the first 3 months. Chase will honor this higher sign-up bonus. All you have to do to get this is send them a secure message once you set up your online account and they will make the change. Congrats again!

That's an amazing sign up bonus! I will definitely bring that to their attention.

Should I wait for the card to get here, or call the backdoor number and ask them about it sooner (the sign up bonus)?

It's best to wait and send them a secure message. The frontline CSR you get on the phone might not know the policy but when you send a secure message it goes to their Rewards Dept. and they will definitely honor the higher sign-up bonus. Reference the link I provided above and you should be set.

I sent them a message after my $100 bonus already posted and they got back to me within 1 hour, posting the other $200 to my account.

Thank you! I will definitely do that when I get my account and everything set up online.

Although I may call the backdoor number anyway, as my CL (per the automated line) is only $500...I'm hoping if I explain how I want to use the crap out of this card and reap the 5% as well as the bonus, they will at least up it to $800 or $1,000.

Congrats! I was tempted to app for Chase when I saw that they were offering 5% back on Amazon this quarter. But i burned them in the 80s and have read that they have a very long memory, so I'm not going to try. This looks like a great card -- nice rewards!

I also just emailed chase about the offer and yes they will honor it. They just added the points to my account after 10 minutes. My account was opened in jan

I would be stunned and amazed if Chase kept detailed records back that far. There might be a summary notation in the file, but if you relly want a Chase card...

It's evident that Chase and the rest are trying to lure new (or old) customers back into the fold... $300 bonus on $500 initial spend, wow! Your current credit profile qualifies you for the pair of Amex's you obtained which is almost certainly good enough for a Freedom: if there was any period in likely the next two decades or even more where Chase would be willing to let you back in the door, it would be right now.

The current economic situation and the one all credit lenders find themselves in may be a one-in-a-lifetime event for us, if you want a Chase card, apply now or in the near future before this time period passes. What's one more inquiry anyway in 12 months, and they may not even pull EX anyway for you like Amex almost assuredly did.
