Congratulations on your refinancing.

I did not jump on the app'ing bandwagon this holiday season. ZERO apps for me in Nov/Dec 2007.

Focusing on my plan for 1st mortgage in May 2008. After that I will stroll into Nordstrom and apply !!

I app'd for a Citi, not for any special deals, just because I had always wanted one.

Now I did take a hit (33 pts) when that new CC reported. OUCH!!

CONGRATS on the refi!!

Glad you're safely in the land of fixed-rate mortgages now. And you picked your cards for some smart reasons; not just app'ing for everything in sight! Those were some good deals there. You might not even want to look at your scores once the new lines pop up --ouch! --but they should recover quickly.

Congrats!

Well, I did 1 app (GapCard) and 1 reactivation (Macy's) for the holidays. The Macy's reactivation might have hit my score for about 3-8 points. GapCard didn't seem to change it. The GapCard CL is my lowest at $200, Macy's is 2nd lowest (tie with PayPal MC) at $800. I did take advantage of their promo's and perks this season and for post-Christmas sales.

I do notice that I tend to prefer Old Navy to Gap in general, so I am wondering if I would be benefiting more from an Old Navy Card instead. No biggie I guess since I tend to chase clearance deals from there anyway.

I'm amazed when I can find little kids tops and sweaters for under $5 at GapKids.

Your score will definitely dip because of the new apps and debt ratio on the new cards. You will rebound within a couple of months.

FWIW I've had good luck with my Macy's account. It's my oldest TL (17 years - back from the days of LS Ayres). At one point I had Macy's, LSAyres and Lazarus, but the only one that survived is now branded as Macy's. The card was in such bad shape a few years ago that I had either a 75 or 100 TL. It has slowly grown on its own. I recently called their credit dept to ask a question and they offered to increase the TL from 750 to 1000. I thought, gee, I won't need it, but I'll take the CLI. Be good to them and they'll be good to you.
