Can't seem to let go of Cap One

So even though i've gotten some pretty sweet cards over the past few months, i can't seem to let cap one go =/ i know i don't need them but for some reason i just can't part with even though teh $39 annual fee just posted to my account too!! What is wrong with me?! lol

Fear of a hit on credit score for closing.

And it could just be that there is absolutely nothing wrong with you.

I'm gonna go with all of the above! haha its not like its a ginormous limit only $750....but i can't bring my self to pay $39 for something that just isn't going to grow with me =/ and hasn't grown

Here's the truth of Cap1 from this platinum steps card holder:

These cats are tough...seriously tough. They crave sub-prime customers like a fish needs water. Because the sheer volume of business of this credit demographic is enough to choke most lenders, Cap1 is in a unique position to handle the volume...provided it is offered in a responsible manner.

Now, to us responsible users of their products, Cap1 seems stingy to the legendary mark. They are extremely sparing with CLIs, annual fees, APRs, etc. However, they gave us credit when no one else did...and quite frankly, at a lower APR than some of their more nasty competitors. In my case (YMMV), Cap1 gave me a card with a $39 AF, but with a 16.99 APR. OB gave me the same APR, but with a higher AF, a measly $300 CL, and NO hope of increase until very, very recently. Cap1 at least steps you to $750...which for a person with a 500-600 FICO, may be as good as it gets.

Cap1 is and likely always will be what is has been for many of us: a 2nd chance. It won't usually grow with us, but it was the fertilizer that helped us grow
