Really want Amex zync!!! App itch

I really want to app for Amex zync, current fico scores are EQ 640, tu 560, exp fako 620. Got approved for auto loan thru my cu a month ago. Should I just pull trigger and apply for the zync. I had a closed charge off acct with them 6 years ago and one closed paid as agree with them 7 years ago as well, is it worth an inquiry???

In my opinion, no. Your scores are kind of low so you may not be approved. Just my two cents.

Nope, you're not even close. 620 is pretty much subprime, and since it's a FAKO your real score might be even lower than that. I'd work on your credit for a minimum of 12 months before even thinking about applying. Amex is not a subprime lender nor have they ever been.

Is the auto loan your only open account? Are both of your old accounts with them paid? I think your scores may be a bit low. You may want to consider AmEx prepaid, you may get an invite to apply in a few months.

You will need to try to oasis program with them in all likelihood. AMEX is known to hold a grudge.

You will need to try to oasis program with them in all likelihood. AMEX is known to hold a grudge.

You cannot apply for oasis program. They only offered to some charge-off Amex cardmembers.

I don't think it's worth it, are these CO's paid?

I have 2 ccs with cap1 with limit of 2250 combine. 2 accounts withovado 4500 combine. And express acct with 1000 limit. Student loan with balance of 20k in excellent standing. So overall, I think it's a good mix of credit but really love to have an Amex zync..

I think it would be smart of you to garden for a year and get your EX score up before trying. Not even sure about the CO, they could decline strictly on that.

I wouldn't do it! You have a decent mix, but a new credit line and a low score. No since added an INQ to the pot for a likely low yield. Use what you have, pay on time, and try to clean up your report first.

Ya I think it'll be pretty much impossible to get it with that charge off and those scores are pretty low FYI amex pulled EXPERIAN on my recent most zync application unfortunatly I don't know what my real score is on that but my plus score is 698, my real scores for EX and TU are 665 and 670 respectivly. Anyway it is a great card I think everyone should have it. People think i'm a rockstar when I whip it out lol.

I say screw it and apply for it. I was approved for the Zync with $500 w/auto pay with lower scores than you. Just keep in mind that YMMV. People with high scores have been declined as well as people with low scores.

Did you have a charge off too...with the very company for which you were applying! I'm sorry, but I really think that is a bad idea!

Yes I had a few CO's on my CRs all paid for though. I even had a charge off with Amex before which I did pay them in full back in 2009. No collections on CRs. I was approved for the Zync last year in Feb.

I was denied by Amex with a credit score by Fico 652. They came back with a Zync $500.00 c/l if I had proof I had a checking account where they can take the money out every month. After the 6-12 month period the will make it unlimited spending. I had two baddies that were 6 years old. You have to get your foot in the door. They will do a hard pull if you are applying for your 1st Amex. If people have a Amex and apply for another one it counts as a soft pull. I would wait for you scores to go up.

It is good looking when it is a new card. Mine got all kind of scratches by using the card.
