Annual fees on closed accounts?

I'm looking at old credit card statements (credit reporting disputes) for a card that was closed by Bank of America on 9/24/08. They charged me an AF on 9/27/08.

Anyone had this happen to them? Advice?

Given that it was 3 1/2 yrs ago, I doubt there's much you can do. If it were recent, you could call and ask them to credit your acct. Did you pay it, or was it charged off?

Paid it off a few months after they closed it (in retrospect, should have gone for a PFD, oh well..). I'm not going to do anything with it, I'm just so irritated with BoA that noticing that was the icing on the cake.

A closed account should be closed immediately so yeah that was pretty shady of them to tack on the AF. I've had some equally shady dealings with BofA and decided to close my accounts with them last year.

Well, it's probably better for you that you paid it. But I doubt there's anything you can do. B of A isn't know for their kindness or great CS. They are one bank that's NOT on my list of desired CCs!

I don't want them in my wallet either!
