So I've been contemplating whether to poke the BoA constrictor.

I have a pending BT between BoA and Discover to get that balance to $0. I have a $59 annual fee for a card that has no perks and no rewards, pretty much.

I'm wondering if I should try for a PC with them.

My card used to be an MBNA card, but then they got bought by BoA, so now it's through them.

The problem is its my largest CL, and I'm wondering if this might provoke a closure of my card or a CLD.

Should I tempt the BoA constrictor or just pay the fee for having my largest CL?

Things to ponder, indeed!

Anyone have ANY experiences with PC within BoA at all?

I've still been contemplating this, but have no clue whether this would affect my AAOA, the card is my oldest account (2003) and I'd hate to lose that just for a $59 fee.

But I don't want to call BoA either. The customer service is amazing up until the moment you tell them you don't want to purchase the insurances they are trying to sell.

I PC'd without any problem, but the card had always been a BofA. It was an affiliate card, one with the logo of my professional association. I switched to the 3-2-1 or 1-2-3 or whatever the thing was, because the first one was a points card. Same CL, no surprises. In fact, it took a while to get the physical new card, but they said that I could use the old physical card in the meantime, and my purchases would be on the new rewards program.

I just called and asked. Prepare to sit through the usual array of amazing BT opportunities and whatnot.

Did switching affect the age of the account? That's really the big one for me, I wouldn't want to go from 2003 to all of a sudden, 2012.

Whenever I call them, I'm always prepared to lose 20 minutes of my life.

In fact, it still shows the old name (the affiliate card) on my online account, even though I switched around 3 (?) months ago.

It was completely seamless. (whew)

They recently offered a PC from my plain Platinum Plus to a Cash Rewards World MC. Age stayed the same but new account number was issued. Use the hell out of it this weekend on a short riad trip. I dont expect any issues, but I expect everything
