AMEX "Current Offers" -- What do they mean?

Hey there, I was logging into my AMEX online account, trying to add my dear husband as an additional cardholder... The website was acting funky... anyways, I got to a page where it looked like I had "Current Offers"

They have listed:

Premier Rewards Gold Card from American Express

Does this mean that I'm pre-approved for these cards? I dont' want them, I'm just wondering cause I've never had any offers before... I am a member since last month LOL

I believe those offers are always there. I remember when I was told that I didn't have any current offers, those 3 cards would appear on the bottom as "Current Offers". Now that I am actually a member, the same three cards still appear as curent offers. So to answer your question, they are not the cards you are pre-approved for.

Ahh ok, that sounds more reasonable... I was very confused cause Ive only had zync for a month LOL

I do believe they update it from time to time if you stay with them long enough. I've seen all different types of cards being offered there depending on my spending history.

Ive had my Green AMEX for 7 months and cant find anywhere that it says "current offers". If i go to the cards page i can see the Platinum and both versions of Gold with an "Upgrade Now" button on them...?

Would this mean im pre-approved to upgrade to those cards?

No and it should give you an error after you apply due to them not allowing it before 13 months. It being upgrade to a card with a higher AF.

I honestly dont even see the difference between the Green and Gold besides 2x points on gas (vs 1x on Green) and potentially getting tickets to concerts earlier than general public?

Its like finer hotels and things. Somewhat a gimmic. Platinum is what shines with travel with their fine hotel and resorts program.

Click on Gold Card Destinations for some info. It can get you a free room upgrade and a dining credit at certain hotels.
