Hooters rewards going away

Got a letter in the mail saying

Dear XXX

Hooters Card LLC has decided to discontinue the Hooters Rewards Program Effective May 13 Hooters Card will cease offering reward points

I wonder if I can PC to another card after that

Bummer. It sounds like Merrick is shutting the Hooters card down, since they also aren't taking applications for it either. I would assume they would probably PC you to something else though.

When did you get this letter? I got a thing to get estatments insted of paper ones.

Not making fun of the person who made this statement; just making fun of Merrick. I like them and they've been decent to me. They just don't seem to care about anything that isn't their idea. I'm surprised the Hooters card is still operational at all and I'm not surprised they shut down the rewards. The rewards site hardly worked. I got my last $25 cash back out of them and I had the feeling they'd be shutting that down; when I entered my credit card information (I had to buy a couple of points to have enough to cash out) they did not even have enough years in the pull-down bar to fill out a card past something like 2012! I got the impression the site had not been maintained in a long time.

When did you get this letter? I got a thing to get estatments insted of paper ones.

UIt was dated 3/13/12 and I got yesterday really surprised I got it in 1 day

I'm laughing with you ~ just looked at the Merrick website and it looks like they offer Classic Visa® and MasterCard® Credit Card Products, but you can't apply without an acceptance certificate. But you can apply for their secured card though. So who knows what they are going to do with the Hooters cards.....

They haven't announced that the card is going away. Just the fact that the rewards are. And also they aren't taking new applications.

what was their offer when issuing these cards?

I'm from Florida and used to go to the orginail hooters ALL the time, before they popped up on every street corner. Never really saw them push it in the store, or their hotel in Lakeland. (no, the cleaning ladies did NOT look like their store counter-parts)

I too went to the original in Clearwater when I live in Florida

anyway am I the only one who got the letter?

Got my letter today, hope this doesn't effect my cli that I was expecting next month, it'll be a year since I've had the card.

Well, I've had my credit card for almost 3 years now with a perfect pay record and not 1 single penny increase to my cl. You can't ask for one either.

I got the letter in the mail today. I also got a CLI from them sometime within the last year. I didn't ask for it. I mean, I probably did, but they don't give out CLIs upon request.

I got 2 auto cli I did not ask for the past year, but I usually carry a balance so maybe thats why

i think i may just keep the card regardless. to me this is something special to hang onto. things seem to have more value to me once they are discontinued. especially when i have no af, the lowest purchase apr, and the highest credit limit they offer and allow period on a no af hooters card.
