Didn't happen to me but just this week it happened to my daughter. Someone used her Costco Amex at a brick and mortar Toys R Us in a town about 500 miles away to the tune of over $700. Funny thing is, the charge went through, they walked and then Amex called her to inquire about it. Of course she was nowhere near that town nor did she authorize anyone. They told her not to worry, they would handle it. I don't get this but Amex told her that since the purchase was made at a storefront, someone possibly got her account number and made a copy of her credit card????

All this fraud is the reason I specifically request cards with no RFID chip. After the recent Zappos breach I've also gone so far as to delete CC payment info from all the websites I frequent. I figure taking 10 extra seconds to type out my CC # each time is well worth the hassle if fraud is the alternative.
