AFAIK they are HP's but YMMV. Some cardholders hopefully will chime in on this.

I've read from many that it's a hard pull, but never experienced it personally.

It is a hard pull. Went from $600 to $1000 (I requested $1000, so maybe I can go for more).

How long after you had the card did you request the CLI ???... what kind of usuage did u have and do u PIF ??? i have had my card for 4 months now and thinking of asking for one

i called for a CLI in september and the CSR told me that all requests would be a HP.

i have the bankamericard cash rewards.

I requested CLI online, wasn't an instant decision. I use it for grocery spending (approx $100 per week), PIF every week. Have the card for 8 months since opening.

i have their secured card with a 300 limit and was told if i wanted to raise the secured limit it would be a hard pull

Just wasted TU HP on BofA CLI - tried to increase from $500 CL after 6th statement, got a call from credit analyst who basically explained me that I've been doing a great job managing my credit, but my overall credit history was too short, so he couldn't offer me any increase, even the smallest one...

My first HP in 2012 ended with nothing , will probably need to calm down and wait at least for several months more...

BTW, do you think it makes sense to try to recon this? It seems the analyst had quite a strong point (length of credit history) and even my explanations that I can't buy a single air ticket to Europe using this card wasn't of any help...

Added: BTW, beware - looking at my report, HP has been placed on my report on Saturday night, right at the time I clicked luv button in my Online banking, so seems it's a fully automated HP initiated by the system, not by the analyst when he's reviewing the file.

I just got a CLI this morning and the rep said it would be a soft pull. I was compressing the CL from one BoA card into another, though, so it might be different under those circumstances.

- Scratch that. It was a HP after all. It just showed up on my TU report. Blurgh.

I have the Alaska Airlines Platinum Plus. Have had it for close to a year and recently hit the luv button. Wasn't instant but I logged in a few days later and they bumped me from $2,500 to $5,000 and it was a soft.

My last two CLI requests have actually been answered via soft pull. The most recent request was back in December, I believe.

I have the BOA card with a limit of $500, and its been 5 months. Always paying in full. Tempted to try the credit limit increase button. Currect scores TU: 725, EQ:702

Any suggestions? Also, will it for sure automatically result in a hard pull? Also, I heard recently that BOA is cancelling accounts as soon as any special request is made, is that still true?

LOL everytime I refresh the page, the little box disappears as if it isn't supposed to be there in the first place. Do you have access to online chat on your account page?
