Amex Traditional Green Card

Does anyone here know what the Amex Traditional Green Card is? Apparently it is a type of Green Card with a $55 annual fee compared to the standard $95, but I can't seem to get a straight answer as to how it differs.

It probably does not come with the Membership Rewards. The extra 40 bucks adds this feature. It's similar to the Gold Rewards card which as an AF of $125 but the Gold Traditional's AF is $85.

I don't know why anyone would want the Green without the MR though..

I had a hunch that it was lacking the MR program. I couldn't really think of anything else that would make sense.

Yeah I'm not sure if you can even apply for this anymore, at least I couldn't find the app online. I suspect that it might be available via other channels such as business/corporate. I happen to have an Corporate AMEX green card which does not earn any MR points, so I'm guessing that it is prob a Traditional Green.

I inquired about product changing my PR Gold, and the CSR sent back that I could switch to either the Traditional Green with $55 fee or the Green Card with $95 fee.

Oh, ok ~ well you could also likely downgrade to ZYNC, with $25AF, you'd still get MR Express points.

I would go for the Zync before the Traditional Green, but I think I'll go with the standard Green. I'll be using my points for travel and the Zync doesn't even give a penny per point using pay with points, so Green is definitely the way to go.

How often do you plan to redeem points? If not within the next year, you could use the Zync for now, then switch to Green when you want to be able to transfer the points. Any points you earn on the Zync will be converted to full MR points that can transfer once you upgrade to Green (or if you add any full MR card).

The green card without MR program is pointless. Better off to just get the Zync. That being said I feel that the green card with MR points is a solid card offering
