BoA Cash Rewards VISA to MC failed PC request

I called BoA CS to inquire about changing my Cash Rewards Signature VISA to a MasterCard so that it would get the CL reported, and was told it couldn't happen. I didn't speak to a higher level of CS but I suspect that it's not possible. Anyone able to do such a switch?

Will follow this topic because BoA is in the process of converting my Platnium Plus Cash Rewards to a Visa Signature, so I guess I should call them to cancel the processing?

No need. When you have credit limit over $5000 it will be in Visa Signature automatically.

You can only go from Visa to Visa Signature, not Visa to MC (that needs a new account number).

I wouldn't mind a new account number since it's a brand new account (although I would prefer it to stay the same) but apparently I can't change from Visa to MC and keep it a Cash Rewards card. The best option, if you want to avoid a non-CL reporting Signature Visa is to change the card to a regular Visa card, like the Power Rewards or the regular BankAmericard Visa. Not sure if I want to do that since I would never use the card if it's not a cashback card (although perhaps I might use the Power Rewards card).

My Plat MC went to a World MC. Different account number, but same opening date, same CL (over $5K), and yes, it does report the CL.

It's now a 3-2-1, or 1-2-3, or whatever the heck they call it.

Thanks for the info, good to hear that BoA is reporting CL for their World MC. Do you know if they are reporting the CL to all three bureaus?

Yes, it has always reported the CL to all three.

Its the same card. its basically opposite of the BCE in categories for cash back. so 1-2-3 and 3-2-1 is the same card.

I dont think i make sense now so..."whatever they call it" makes sense.
