Chase Sapphire Preferred..... APPROVED!!!!!!

So I tried my luck and apped for the CSP only to be denied...again. I immediately called the recon number and Derk got me approved for a $5000 CL!!!!!!!!!!! This has been a fantastic credit day for me!!! Two baddies dropped, score way up, and a CSP to boot!! This site offers sooo much invaluable info. You just have to read, absorb, and put it to use.

It is. You can request a World MC version, but unless you do it defaults to a Visa Signature.

I applied 3 weeks ago and was denied. Our scores are similar. May I ask what your credit profile is like? The reason why I got denied was that I don't have an existing CL that is similar/close to the $5000 minimum. That's the reason my first 2 recons gave me. One also mentioned that I just opened a Slate back in 11/2011. They both noted my previous delinquincies which the most recent is 02/2010 but both said that was not an issue.

Hi SwiftTone, when I was denied 37 days ago they told me (I also called for recon then) I was denied for a delinquency that I thought had already fallen off and insufficient CLs. They are sticklers for the CLs, but I did not know that. Since then I have gotten a CC with a substantial CL and my last two baddies dropped off yesterday, so I took the plunge again because I really wanted the card. Aside from them, I have AMEX gold, NFCU cash rewards Visa, and Merrick Visa (from rebuilding days, but has been quite generous). They pulled my TU report which is just above 700. I would suggest going through a CU for a higher CL card and perhaps requesting PC for the Slate to CSP? Hope this helps. Good luck!

That's great! Chase is good that way. Worked for me too with the Ink for business.

Now, if only Capital One would figure out why it's so valuable to have human analysts avilable to take reconsiderations.

Their system leaves a lot to be desired in this regard.

So between when you were first denied, and the time you applied and approved, you opened a CC with a large limit? Also, how old were your baddies?

They also said that I have too much new credit, which they're referring to my Slate which i opened 11/2011, then got a $450 CLI to $750CL. My other youngest card is a Cap One with $1250 CL opened 02/2011.

My plan is to open a CSP, then convert the Slate to the Freedom when they let me, which is 11/2012.

Right. I apped for CSP and NFCU on the same day. Chase said no, Navy said yes with huge CL (which is the reputation I had been hearing about). Since it's been a month, Chase can see the huge CL on my CR and prob felt more comfortable saying yes. Baddies were from 2006, but Chase didn't care. They didn't want to see any at all. They want no baddies and high CL it seems. I was not aware that CLI were considered NEW credit??
