Absolutely loving Amex!

I purchased a hard drive for my Mac about a 2 months ago and it died on me two days ago. The company refused to replace it for me. I emailed Amex purchase protection and explained what happened. The next morning I had a statement credit of $120 (the price of the hard drive). Absolutely amazing service. This is my first Amex and I'll be staying with them for a long time. Anyone else had any experiences like this?

BTW for those wondering, I have a Zync.

Yup! Back in December, I had a repairman come out to fix my washing machine. He looked at it, supposedly found the problem, but told me the part was out of stock. Of course, he required payment of $165 upfront to order the part. No problem, used AMEX. Well, two weeks later he still hadn't shown up or returned my calls. I called Amex and explained and just like your experience, overnight there was a $165 credit on my account. AMEX is awesome! Even though right now I am trying to wrestle a BCP from them, I will always be a loyal customer. Take care of them, they'll take care of you.

I feel the same way! I bought my son an iPod touch for Christmas, and he dropped and broke it in early Feb. I called amex, put in a claim, and in 2 days, had a credit for the entire purchase. I was amazed they didnt make us send it to them! Gotta love Amex!

I thought the protection kicks in after manufacturer's warranty is over ?

There are 2 different benefits. One is warranty extension, it extends warranties an additional 1 year after the original warranty. There is also a return policy that states you can return any qualifying item within 90days.

I am not sure how the process works because I have never used it, but Visa and Mastercard have it on some of their cards. I know that all Visa Signature and World Mastercards have it. Discover only has this service on business cards I believe.

@Injust Welcome to the forums!

To get the Zync, your EX file needs to be clear of any recent derogs. Util. needs to be around 10%, I would say FICO 660 or above. Not alot of recent INQ's. Of course YMMV.
