So I ran into this issue this week. I have a Chase Freedom account. No other accounts with Chase. A friend of mine needed $70 to cover her Chase checking account since it was overdrawn. I didn't have the cash handy, and since my personal bank is not located in the city I work, I was unable to access $70 of cash for her to deposit. She thought about the Quick Pay feature on Chase. We found out after calling customer service, that I could not quick pay to her checking account using my credit card. I wonder why that is? The Chase rep recommended that I do a cash advance. I would not do that due to the fees. He then recommended presenting my card with a picture ID at a Chase branch and they would give me the cash I needed. What is that about? What would my credit savvy myfico friends have done to help this friend out. I was unable to find a solution and she had to call another friend for help. By the end of the day she got her account covered, but I would like some advice on options when in this sort of situation..Thanks

I have never done it but there is more information on their website.

There a many websites that allow you to send money from your credit card. There are even a few with no fees. All these services post as purchaes so you would not be charged a fee. Amazon Payments is probably the best.

Do this instead,

You and your friend open an account at Amazon Payments. Then use your credit card to send money to your friend's Amazon Payments account. Select Good/Purchases and the transaction will be labeled as purchase rather than cash adavance.

Then your friend simply deposit the money back into her deposit account. Amazon does ACH so it should take no more than two days to show up on her account.

Even if you were able to do so it wouldn't resolve her overdrawn as it does take time to complete the transfer. And if you were able to use your credit card to transfer finds without fees it would open up a loophole for cash advances without paying any fees.
