Does Capital One put "member since ____" on cards?

Just curious because my Capital One (Sony Card) is the only CC I have out of five that doesn't show any 'member since ____' on the physical card (and it's my oldest one too, since '93).

not on there rebuilder cards... it has an valid dates but if you loose or have your card stollen it wouldn't be the same as member since.

Grrrrr! Yet another negative feature of Cap One. Too bad, last year when my Sony Card was with Chase it did show the date, which was rather nice too see.

Yeah the Member Since date is pretty much meaningless unless the creditor backdates to it.....like AMEX.

Really, why? A 'member since' just reflects the account opening date, which could be an old account that helps your AAoA and length of credit. It would be nice if other companies backdated like AMEX though.

It could be just that, but only if you have a single card. Every other card would reflect the opening date of your first card, but from a credit reporting perspective it does nothing for you.

It may be a deal breaker for those in the know and well informed as represented in this forum! However, it's not a deal breaker for the average person on the street and Cap One knows this. Most people still don't know anything about credit inquires and their relationship to credit scores.

Well said. I was just looking through my EQ credit report where I have over 13 inquiries over the last two years. A lot of them were random because i didn't know any better. Like I shopped on different websites to get the best Directv deal and each website pulled my CR. I also applied for random cards i knew I had no hopes of getting. If I had only known better back then.....
