Do pizza places count as a restaurant?

I just ordered a bunch of pizzas and food from a pizza place, for delivery, with my More. I'm hoping this will categorize as a "restuarant" - you can dine in there too.

Anyone know for sure?

What else could it go under? I think it should count.

That's what I was thinking but I don't know where they draw the line. What about fast food places? I don't eat fast food but am just curious.

It really ought to count as a restaurant. Dominos and the others always show up as restaurants on my Amex.

Sure does, even Starbucks will count as a "restaurant" for bonus points.

It should count as restaurants. I do not believe there is a "fast food" category.

Fast Food is a category. It comes up on my Visa as MCC 5814. Restaurants are MCC 5812. Either way, both should be counted as restaurants as they both have restaurants in the description.

Interesting. On my Discover statements, fast food has come up as restaurant. Good to know.

Do those codes actually appear on your statement?

Fast food places should count as restaurants. I'd like to know if they are counted as restaurants and for which cards (Discover has 5% off restaurants this month). One thing I noticed for BoA Cash Rewards is that Target does count as a supermarket since I get bonus cashback for it (2% total).

I show them online on one of my cards under transactions. The codes do not appear on my actual statement though.

Per the Discover website:

Earn 5% Cashback Bonus on purchases made at restaurants and movies from 4/1/12 (or the date on which you signed up, whichever is later) through 6/30/12, subject to a cap of $1,500 in purchases. Restaurant purchases are those made at merchants classified as full-service restaurants, cafes, cafeterias and fast food locations. Movie ticket and movie rental purchases are those made at merchants classified as movie theaters, video rental stores, online movie ticket and movie rental services. These purchases must post to your account by 6/30/12. Purchases made at warehouse clubs, wholesale distributors or discount stores are not eligible. If a purchase is coded for a category other than those listed above, it will not qualify. Rewards are added to your Cashback Bonus account at the end of your billing period.
