BoA Signature Visa....

As some of you may remember, my wife and I had our Siggy Visa's closed by BoA earlier this year...

Well, it is wierd, I can still log on to my account and it shows $15k limit, etc...

I contacted them via Secure email to ask them why it still shows a line of $15k. They came back to me telling me my account was not "closed" but rather "suspended". Then they proceeded to give me a special phone number to call if I wanted to "re-activte" the card. Wierd stuff....

I am considering calling this number on Monday to see what the deal is. If they will reopen without an HP, I will have the card reopened.

Anyone ever have anything like this happen to you? And, if so, what was the outcome?

Is the HP too much to get 15K back?

Ray,

I had mine closed many years ago and it stayed online for many years. If you look at account details, it doesn't show the available credit. By the way, it is not worth your time to re-open the account. Your USAA World MC is much better. You don't have worry about unable to use your card when you use your account every time.

BOA did the same thing to me with my Alaska Airlines card. It was a HP, and then they told me it was closed for over 6 months so they couldn't reactive/reopen it. So why even offer to try? Grrr. To this day, when I log in on BOA it says available credit $6000 (for a closed card, that they don't call 'closed').

I'm curious as to why BoA is closing accounts for apparently no strong reason. Is it for inactivity/non-use?

If you don't need the $15K, I wouldnt want a HP just for a suspended card. They should be able to open it if their 'investigations' are done.

No, I do not. Plenty of open credit from the other cards. I just found it interesting.
