Last week I applied for Lowes and Chase Freedom and got the big DENIED with recon. Lowes pulled Experian and Chase said hell no because I was on the blacklist from my High School day and I didn't even realize. 12 years ago. Tonight I applied for a Barclays Apple card and was approved for $1400.00. Yaaaa. I hope its not a April fools joke. Anyway, I will be in garden mode till next April. With Barclays should I ask for a CLI or be happy with what I have ? I plan on buying my girlfriend of 7 years a Ipad. We both have Iphones and Mac Titanium laptops.

Congratulations on your new card!

If you want a higher credit limit, you should definitely call tomorrow and ask for it. Barclay is usually very good at recons and they are usually fairly generous. They are inquiries sensitive so be sure you stay in the garden and not apply for very much else over the next six months.

Wow! Chase has a long memory. Do you know if Chase did a HP, or if they just found you in their records and said no?

I would definitely call on Barclay's. They approved me for $1200. I called and said I wanted to get a Mac Book Pro, and they increased to $2200, after asking a few questions.

Thank you bichonmom & Daisy. I don't know if Citi/Chase did a hp or not. I thought I would hit up CC companies that I plan using a lot. I would really like Lowes because I spend over 5k a year there owning a HVAC company. Freedom card was for a bonus. Barclays will get a lot of business from me from office laptops, supplies to iphones for office staff.

Go ahead and call now, and try not to add alot of new credit in the next 6 months they are sensitive to that and have shut people down for it.

I think I will wait 6 months and ask for a cli. My utilization ratio stands at about 40% right now. All will be paid off at the end of the month and then I will use the new Barclays and Discover @ about 5-20%. Im just happy that Barclays gave me a approval.

I'm surprised you got denied by Lowe's Congrats on the apple card, even tho, perhaps I should save my congrats for the end of your 6 month probation period

and I would call Barclay, they will either increase or say no... never heard of them taking away... atleast not until you go mad crazy applying!

Happpppppppppppppppy dance. For my my office I will be buying a new Mac Book Pro 17'. I called and got a cli of $2500.00. Remember I was approvered last night for $1400. I said 2k would be enough and I'll put the rest on my other CC. She said sir I will put the full amount for $2500. She had a couple of questions like why my Capitalone is $1200 out of a $1750 and I said I used it to fill up my work trucks. I have been with Cap1 for over 5 years and never late. After that... Bammmmm $2500 approved. Major garden mode and no more cli till next year. I think Im really happy with what I got over the past year. I got a used 2008 bmw xi 328 in April, Amex, Discover and Barclays. Thanks to this forum I would have not reached my goals. Thank you to everyone that helped me out. I will be a contributor to help those building. Beer time.

Thank you all for the much needed help. Im sure Chase and Lowes were HP's. The lowes card was for a bussiness account. I did pick the worst or cheapest one they had to offer. Lowes is a GE creditor, but they pulled my Exp and said no because of the old Citi Bank C/O. Barclays, Amex, and Discover are going to be a work horse this year. I will keep my U % down.
