I'm super excited, things have been going really well for me. I just purchased a home and now I'm rebuilding my credit profile. I really want to have a high limit credit card for emergency purposes now that I own a home. As of now, I have a Capital one $2,000, AMEX $500, Orchard Bank (UGH!!) $400 but I'm seriously considering closing it. I received the Capital one card approval last weekend. After receiving the approval, I figured..."let try Chase!" I was declined but I didn't give up because many forum poster's say to call the backdoor for reconsideration. I called this morning and behold...I WAS APPROVED!! The credit limit is low, $500 but I'm sure wih time it will increase. I would like to build the credit limit up, how would I proceed to do that?

Use it a lot, and pay it off in full. PIF multiple times a month if you have to. Also, if you can open up a Chase checking acct, it will be beneficial too. It may not help with CLI, but you get better rewards. It's 10 pts every time you use it, and I believe 10% bonus on the pts you already earned.

Thanks Swifttone! I'll make sure to do that. I have a Chase Checking & Savings. I didn't know there's additional benefits when using your chase checking & chase freedom card. Good looking out and I appreciate your help.

I have the Chase Freedom/Checking combo.

For the extra bonuses alone, it's well worth it, even if the CL is only $500.

I've had mine for almost a year now, and I haven't been the beneficiary of an auto-CLI, but that's fine. I don't want to request one either and get an INQ for it.

I just closed on my home 3/23 and my lender pulled scores from 3/4 were...EFX 650 Trans 684 EQ 696. I believe Chase used my Experian report.
