I have had my US Bank Secured credit card for 3 years and it has yet to graduate. Even my Orchard Bank credit card graduated in less time than that!

I checked my credit report back in Februrary and it looks like US Bank did a soft pull back in December. I realize that people have to have secured cards for a reason, but you would think with 3 years of spending pattern information and a clean history that you would get the nod. Even Capital One gave me more increases (from $500 to $750 to $2750).

Hello all. First of all, these boards have been a huge help to me on my journey rebuilding my credit!

My info: I originally opened a US Bank Secured Visa 27+ months ago. It had a $300.00 limit which was the balance I had deposited. I have never gone over my limit, I have never even gone near my limit. I paid it off regularly, sometimes multiple times a month considering how easy US Bank Online Banking interface allows you to transfer funds between accounts. Granted, before I stumbled onto these boards about a year ago, I didn't know I needed to keep my utilization down, so in my first 12 +/- months having the card I charged right up to half or so of the limit and although I PIF I wasn't savvy as to when the statements were cut, therefore what was being reported to my CR's. However in the last 11+/- of having the card I got that figured out, so it never showed more than 11% and always paid as agreed. So at two years they charge me the annual fee again and I call them up and say, "Wait a minute, after having this card for two years and being extremely responsible with it, when exactly are they going to transfer me to an unsecured card that you promised me after a year and a half?" The CSR apologized told me he would be sending me a US Bank Platinum Visa in the mail. He said he couldn't confirm my credit limit over the phone. So the card comes and my limit is $300, I call up customer service and ask what is up with the puny limit and she said that after 6 months they would probably do a SP for me.

My question is: Does anyone have any advice for getting a CLI from US Bank.? And does this seem right? After over 2 years of good history with them they will make me wait another 6 months for an increase with a SP? Should I try again with another CSR? Is there a back door number I should know about?

EQ-689 TU- 694 EX-671 as of [2/2012] US Bank Visa-1/2010 (15/300) Cap 1 Mastercard-2/2012 (0/1000) Dillards [CLOSED] opened 1/2000 closed 12/2004 (shows as positive on CR's, balance-$0, high balnce-$1,018, Closed "Cust. Request"

I have one baddie left reporting a 4 1/2 year old CA for $1,600 with an attorney. I just sent for verification.

All other baddies have been deleted.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks discernment. I appreciate the solidarity! Yes, US Bank wasn't really quite clear about the card at all. Originally I wanted to put in a larger deposit for a higher initial credit line, only to find out after calling the back of he card, that adding to the initial deposit was against company policy. So my banker who sold me the card wasn't terribly well informed.

Good luck with your card. I would call them about moving over to the unsecured cards after a year to a year and a half is what the CSR who switched mine over said.

No, I don't belive there is an annual fee with it. Or if there was it was waived the first year. What is weird is the CSR that I spoke with and my cc exp date would also suggest, that they were bumping me up again to Flex Perks Visa after having my Unsecured Platinum Visa open with them and kept in good standing after a year. So who knows.
