Would like to get a card that has a limit of over $5000 closer to $10000 would be awesome. I just got the CSP with $5000 limit and have a credit score of 735. I also have a WF $4700 discover more $1000. Annual income 40000. Suggestions would be great

Personally, I see Amex, GE and Citi giving decent credit limits - especially Amex on their revolving of course. Even without a 5-figure starting limit, the CLIs can easily get you there. I almost forgot, Barclays will too in my experience. As always, YMMV.

A credit union is your best bet. If you have an in with Navy that is where you want to go for large CL's.

I would reccommend you get the Chase Freedom, High limits and decent rewards.

Since s/he just got the Chase Sapphire Preferred at $5000, that may be all they are willing to give him/her right now since that is the minimum. There is no harm in trying, but I doubt it would get approved at over $5000.

American Express might be a good choice; there have been a lot of people with over $10,000 starting limits. Mine started at $10,000 when at the time my highest was $2380.

ny CU you recommend? I am a member at a local one but they most definitely don't have credit cards!

AMEX Revolver or NFCU.

NFCU loves to give out enormous lines right off the bat, but you just need the "in".

Most issuers tend to avoid being the "first" to give you a high CL, but Amex seems more willing than most. I've seen many instances where starting CLs from Amex go from $10K and up.

NFCU always seem to offer high CLs, but you have to be a member which requires some kind of military affiliation.

If you spend over around $2,500 per year on groceries, then the Preferred. If not, then the Blue Cash.

Congrats ! AMEX is really good about CLIs, so you could easily be at 6K in 2 months.....
