Wow, NFCU is generous!

I was going to wait until I was mid-600s to apply for an additional TL because I only have one right now and have a collection that should be removed shortly. However, after doing some research, it appeared that NFCU (been a member since infancy) was pretty generous in extending credit to high-500 scores. So, I applied and I was approved instantly! (Whaaat?!)

The CL is $7,000... and Juniper won't even give me a CLI on my $500 Apple card.

If I could only find my way into this credit union, my CL would probably be $15,000 or better....congratz and maybe someday they'll let a wider range of people in...

Congrats !!! Navy is the best when it comes to giving good CLs to rebuilders. They are extremely generous.

No doubt you would, Dave.

I definitely for more positive about my rebuilding now. My EQ score has been in a lull for about two months and it was driving me crazy.

An approval with a 7,000 CL with a 608 score? Wow - very nice indeed...

Wow. Congrats. They must really not like me because they won't give me more than $2k with a 759 EQ FICO, and you got $7k w/607 EQ. That makes no sense to me.

Just curious... do you have direct deposit with them?

Maybe your new accounts showing kind of spooked them with AMEX? I dont know...

Nope, my DD is elsewhere. That is pretty peculiar, though. Not sure what they are factoring into their decision.

Well Dave I'm pretty sure anyone can join Navy Federal Credit Union now a days! Now it wasent like that 19 years ago when i first joined the Marine Corps but I'm like 90% sure it's that way now!

It's worth looking into I love NFCU and I don't primarily bank with them either. I do however have a car and a motorcycle loan with them with some pretty kick b@tt rates!

My understanding is that it's much easier to get in now, but they don't let anybody in. You still need a connection to the military or a current member,

It's pretty hard to get in, just make sure you are qualified, the security is tight and they will lock your account in a heart beat, that being said, the are the best CU around!

Yea, I kind of collected the picture that their CU is like the Ft Knox of banks...I had called them before and the CSR specified if there was a way in, they'd get you in - having said that, my only connection to the military is my dad who was in the Navy, my uncle who was a Marine and my gramps who was a WWII gruntman and none of them got invited to NFCU..

You should be able to apply easily since you have had so much family in the military. I would be shocked if you were turned away for some weird reason?

I'd apply for membership based on that information. I don't see why you couldn't join!
